David Glassock was asked to design a new entrance space and living room extension to an existing stone cottage in Landscove, Devon.
The existing property was only able to be accessed by going around to the rear of the property. For good reason the client wanted to create a primary entrance space which was both welcoming and away from the rear, private garden space.
David worked closely with the client to create a light, spacious and vibrant space which overlooks a stunning Devon landscape.
The natural mix of local stone and oak timber frame complimented the existing property well, whilst the asymmetrical placed stone wall panel and large timber sliding patio doors create a contemporary feel.
The large roof overhang creates an element of solar shading whilst the full height picture window frames the stunning Devon views.
Planning was achieved first time of asking via South Hams Planning Authority and has completely transformed the clients living experience.
"The living room extension has completely transformed the way I live. I love sitting in the space looking out over my garden"
"Its a complete sun trap and the position of the windows and doors carefully capture and frame the countryside"
"I would highly recommend the services of David Glassock. David was helpful, proactive and created an amazing living space"
